Handgun Match for All Levels
Belton Gun Club will be hosting our first annual match of the Glock Sports Shooting Foundation (GSSF), August 29 and 30, 2020. GSSF’s mission is to “introduce new shooters into the world of competitive shooting.”
GSSF hosts 55 matches nation-wide. Our Belton competition bays and other facilities are a perfect fit for these outdoor competitions.
Several club members have participated in Glock matches in the Southeast. We’ve enjoyed many features of GSSF events:
- Matches are geared toward competitors of all levels.
- Solid safety standards are fundamental for GSSF.
- All competitors we’ve found have been very friendly and helpful.
- We’ve met great new friends with common interests.
- It only takes a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday.
- You can make a fun weekend trip to great areas.
- Random drawing prizes offer everyone a chance to be a winner
Match prizes for a single event last year averaged 22 guns, 14 2-year membership extensions and $4,300 in cash and commodity awards.
We’ll be arranging two “mock Glock” events for our Belton members in advance of our August match. These will be opportunities to learn and shoot the standard GSSF stages. Any semi-auto handgun can be used in our Belton “mock Glock” events. But, to compete in an official event, a Glock pistol is required.
Note that a 2-year membership to GSSF offers a coupon for a significant discount on a Glock pistol. Charleston (Summerville) has a GSSF match on February 8 and 9. This is an opportunity to see an event, and enjoy a nice weekend in Charleston.
You’ll be hearing more about GSSF in coming months. Martha and Don Goodfellow are our Belton Gun Club Match Directors. Feel free to contact us at BeltonBlastGSSF@aol.com
